Nepri is a Skåne-based startup with the mission to help farmers find and treat plant diseases before they cause harm to crops. Founded by Erik Karlsson, a recent graduate from LTH at Lund University. During his MSc thesis he used the chip technology for fieldwork in rural Kenya, where he saw how farmers could do little to save their crops from plant diseases. Nepri uses new microfluidic chip technology, by which they can find the cause behind a majority of all plant diseases: harmful microbes living in the soil. By digging down chips in the soil, they can measure the amount of harmful microbes in that specific area, and guide farmers to more precise and timely management of diseases, before they infect the crop.
